Kinda makes me think about something Prof Ryan taught at the jujitsu convention. When someone makes an attack, you parry like the senseis have always taught. But adding creative little things like scraping the eyes, or even faking some other threat will send the attacker's brain into the primeval limbic system, the fight-or-flight system.
But when he taught that I thought about some of the people I knew and wondered how many of them are simply perpetually in the limbic system? How many of them just always base everything off of ancient instinct rather than rational thought?
Sometimes I feel like I know a lot of those types of people.
