Going Green

I found an article about things to do to "be green" and things that don't matter so much. Personally, I agree with George Carlin- we are here for a reason and when the earth is finished with us, we will go extinct like the other hundreds of thousands of species that the earth no longer had a need for. The earth is stronger than we are.

Still, its good to be at least somewhat useful to the earth, and conserving energy and emissions is a good way to start. Here's a clip from the article I found:

"...Staying together is better for the earth. Converting one household into two means bigger utility bills and, therefore, more greenhouse gases. Researchers at Michigan State University last year computed that the extra electricity consumed by divorced families amounts to 73 billion kilowatt-hours, which works out to about 6,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per household."

So, moral of the story? Everyone should get married and stay married. Divorce is not just bad for the kids. Its bad for the environment.
