How Far?

How far can it be,

The road we travel, you and me

How far can we go along

How long can we sing this song

How far can I let you go

Before you've found another road

How much road is in my head

And how much road is mine to tread

Relationships, like the Tree Pose, are a balanced posture.  "Falling into center, falling out of center," as my yoga instructors say.  We can walk along together, hand in hand, but how much will we let each other get away with before we lose that precarious balance we have?
